Writing, like banging your head against the wall, feels teriffic mainly when you stop. -R. Walter So, I always hate it when authors who I'm dying to read the next chapter by stop writing and put up lame excuses why they haven't done it yet... so...
*DEEP KOWTOW*
I'm terribly sorry I haven't posted the next chapter of AMOC yet. I really don't have any excuses, just reasons, which I hope that you'll forgive me for. This is what I was going to put in my author's note for chapter ten, two weeks ago... *sob* "Several people have asked, am I going to continue this story? The answer is unquestionably yes, but I must ask for some understanding. I do have a full time, professional job, plus a regular life and friends, and I’m just not as prolific a writer as some. If I do artwork for the story, which I definitely want to do because I want to improve my art even more than I want to be able to write, that’s done in the time I could be writing too. If it takes me a while to write a chapter, trust me, it doesn’t make me happy to keep you guys waiting.
Now, I have to add to those reasons the beginning of our house search. We've started looking to buy our first house (yay?) which is cool, intimidating, frustrating, and a host of other things all rolled into one. Mostly though it just sucks out the last little bit of energy I have at the end of my day, and all I feel like doing is collapsing. (Gaara... come back to meeeee!!!) On the bright side, an amazing thing happened... my artwork inspired an even better artist to do fanart of my story! *stars drift past my eyes in wonder* Please check out lillianclaire 's journal here to see her beautiful rendition of Gaara and Sakura in their wedding outfit!! I first saw it at work, and I wanted to run around the office yelling to see what great art someone had drawn based on my story, but my coworkers are the opposite of geeky. They barely understand what anime IS, much less would get that I wrote fanfiction for a series! (architects are STUFFY non-geeks, I stand out like a sore thumb amongst them...)
Anyway, my apologies for keeping everyone waiting so long. :( I don't have any estimate for when I'll be able to post the next chapter, though I have high hopes for our vacation coming up. We're driving from DC to Indianapolis to go to the Formula 1 race, the US Grand Prix. We're buying a special adaptor to power the laptop through the 9+ hour drive there, so I want to get some quality writing time in on our trip! We leave in almost a month exactly, so if you're the frequent checking type (I am too) then around then would be good time to check back.

Aww there there don't get down. I work part time and I'm stressed of course April and May hasn't been the best time for me either. First time to buy a house sounds scary too me. Everytime I think of handling big time money I break out into a cold sweat. Its actually funny that people are writing to you asking if you've continued AMOC. Its been barely a month and people are already thinking you've given up? I have fanfics that I still check and they haven't updated for nearly four years... Dedicated? You bet I am!!
Anyway gettin off track here, just don't worry what the majority think and pressure you to do. The best work in my opinion comes when nothing is forced and your actually having fun. The thoughts of the fans is just the perks. At least that's how I deal with it when it comes to my art. If someone is like "OMG can you draw this!?" I'm thinking aww man pressure to try and prove myself I hate this!!! So I figure hey writing is art so its the same thing.
Aww your gonna make me blush! But seriously thanks I'm really glad you like it. At first I was thinking, 'What if she's insulted that I went off of her drawing??! I didn't even ask permission!! Nuuu!'
And curse those non-geek coworkers of yours! Its like that at my job though. Being a filing clerk has to be one of the most insane jobs ever. Staring at numbers... for four hours on your feet... just filing. Pure unadulturated agony!! But I don't like being a "starving" artist... literally.
Ohh sounds exciting to go to the grand prix. Though remember us ficcers out there and sprout some kick booty ideas! Yay! :D
omg WORD on the "starving artist" thing, I mean, why do you think I'm an ~architect~?? It's sorta artsy enough to engage my creative skills, and technical enough to really be challenging, and it actually pays $$$.
My dream is to illustrate my own stories. If money was no object then I'd be a full time artist. I don't know if I'd try to create manga, that's like 100% drawing all the time, on top of writing everything too. But manga-ka have assistants to help with all the drawing, in Japan it's like a time-tested system of apprenticing under an established manga-ka to learn the ropes. Not having access to any of that, plus feeling leery about having other people draw stuff and then calling it mine... ehhh... And I actually enjoy writing. I like massaging the words into just the right form, writing when it's going well feels really natural...

first off, LILLIANCLARE i relly like you picture it's pretty, ARCHIC take your time, your story is too good to rush, you'll make mistakes. i can't help but laugh though. do the people who comment kno people can read the comments? (peer pressure, peer pressure) "please update ur story is SOMEWHAT worth reading!" lmao gee thanks for the positive re-enforcement they loose their integrity by opening their mouths(or well typing) I know what your going through. I used to write storys, but with school and work (i babysit seven yr olds.....worst...job....ever) i gave up (tears) i wish i hadnt though. keep writing, and at your own pace. mc
